Day 61, Lesson from Owner’s Manual
Grace! Can we earn it? NO. Do we deserve it? NO. What exactly is it? Grace is represented as the Holy Spirit in Paul’s writing. Grace by definition is something freely given to us, from God. May have heard the Grace plan of Salvation fulfilled the law. Now, it is freely given to us. All we have to do is repent, and accept. Then our work begins. Faith and Grace goes together. Is it through Faith by Grace? Once we have received Grace, we have a job to do. Jesus told us what to do, and said “Why call me Lord, and not do as I say?” Research Grace, now available to all of us.
Think about it.
Day 62, Lesson from Owner’s Manual
Palm Sunday! What is it? Why is it called that? Jesus, with his many followers, knew this was going to be His last entry into Jerusalem. Many Jews expected Him to come in Power and Glory. He came, as a lamb to the slaughter. He told two of His Disciples where to find the Ass and her colt. He also told them if anyone asked why they were taking the colt, simple tell them “My Master has need of it” They found them, right where He said it was. He climbed aboard, and entered into the City. People were throwing Palm branches and leaves for the colt to walk on. Praising Jesus, as He entered. The “Religious Leaders” were afraid, and angry. The Romans were not impressed. Jesus was humble, loving, and caring, until He got to the Temple. We are told He single handedly cleared the Temple of Money Changers and sellers of animals to be sacrificed. Turned the tables over, and told them. “You have turned my house into a den of Thieves!” Never mistake Meek for weak!
I will write more on the happenings of this week, long ago. Read it for yourself. I personally like Luke’s writing, and study. Jesus knew what was coming up, and did it anyway.
For YOU, and for ME.
Day 63, Lesson from Owner’s Manual
We really don’t spend enough time reading/studying about the 40 days after the Resurrection of Christ. He walked with some, talked to many, and ate with many. All to show that He was alive, not just a Spirit. Remember the disciple Thomas? He doubted all the reports, said he would not believe it until he could feel the nail-prints, and put his hand in the wound on Jesus side. Jesus said, “OK, here I am” (Davis translation) you know why Thomas doubted? So we would not have to. Doubt is the opposite of Faith, it is unbelief. Doubt is what caused Lot’s wife to turn into pillar of salt. I pray today that no one goes to sleep tonight with any doubt about where you will spend Eternity. If you would like to talk more about it, pm me. I will not argue with anyone, only share my experience, hope and strength.
I am Praying for all.
Day 64, Lessons from Owner’s Manual
Simple, short, and to the point. “Be still, and know that I am God” Ever had that urge to fix something? Only you can “fix” it? No one understands? We take that to God in an urgent prayer, God, Please take care of this, get me out of this, etc. Then, we get off our knees, and try to “fix” it again. Ever do that? (Come on be honest) If we get to where we just don’t know what to do, don’t know where to turn, DO NOTHING! Boy that got you, huh. If our Faith is strong enough, we leave it in God’s Hands. (By the way, to get strong Faith, we exercise it) If we could fix whatever it is, we would have already done so, right? Give it to God, and trust. It may not come out the way you want it to, but it (whatever “it” is) will come out the way God intended all along. To the few atheist that read my post and regularly make comments, (by the way, they are not making fun of me, just wanting proof) to those I say, keep asking. Try God! He is big enough and sure of Himself enough that He is not threatened by our doubts. We remember Thomas? Sorry, said this was going to be short. I got carried away. These past few weeks this is exactly what I have been doing; being still, and knowing that God is God.
Prayers and blessings to all of you, and keep prayers going up for us.
Day 65, Lesson from Owner’s Manual
Good morning everyone. Listening to birds chirping, some Canadian Geese just flew over, wife still sleeping. Thanks to everyone who lifted me in prayer. Slept fairly well. Another day begins. Looking for my Blessings today. Owner’s Manual says what we seek is what we will find. If I seek things to worry about, things that may go wrong, that are what I will find. But if I look for blessings, look for ways to be of Service to God, ways to help my fellow man that is what I will find. If I search for Peace, I find that within my heart. A Peace that goes beyond understanding. Peace in the middle of the storms of life. “But Claude” some will say, “so much trouble, so much heartache, so many negative things going on, Can we have Peace in the middle of that?” Yes! God is still God, and I am not! I don’t judge others, I accept the Peace that is in my heart, and for today, choose to walk in the Light.
Think about it.
Day 66, Lesson from Owner’s Manual
Amazing how God can take a negative and turn it into a positive. We never see it coming, but God sees it all. I am Reading in the Book of Acts. Most scholars agree it was written by Luke, and pretty much goes by chronological order. I have been reading about Stephens, one of the first “Deacons” of the Church. Remember, the 12 could not take care of all the “business” of the church, and told the followers to choose some good people that they trusted and were good upright people to handle the affairs, so disciples could focus on spreading the Gospel. At any rate, Stephens proved to be so much more. He really upset the “religious rulers”, so much so he was stoned. (No, not that kind of stoned, they used real rocks) His last words were “I see Jesus, standing at the Father’s right hand” Quite the vision, wouldn’t you say? Here is where God takes a life and turns it around. Holding the garments (robes) of the men stoning Stephens was a young man named Saul. He was a Zealot, and later continued to persecute the Christians. You might remember him by the name Paul, whom Jesus brought to his knees, and spoke directly to him. He wrote much of the remaining Books of the Bible. God turned his life around, and he became a great Evangelist, responsible for the 7 churches of Asia. Think about it for a moment, what a change of heart. We do not know what will happen tomorrow, but God does. He is already there! Our minds cannot yet wrap around that, but someday we will. God has not called you just so you sit on a shelf somewhere and tell everyone in a loud voice “I’m a Christian” Should not have to tell anyone! It was in Antioch that they were first called Christians! The non-Christians called them that because of their actions. How about you? Would others know you are a Christian by your actions? Put that in your pipe and smoke it for a while.
Day 67, Lesson from Owner’s Manual
Remember the young man that held the garments for the ones that was stoning Stephens? (See Lesson #66). That young man was a Zealot. He was big on persecuting the early Christians. (Though they were not called Christians yet, that happened in Antioch a couple of years later) Saul was on his way to another town, with a paper that gave him the right to openly persecute the followers of Christ, could put them in prison. Some top Religious leaders gave him that “right.” But God had other plans. Remember, he was struck blind, and heard Jesus say to him “why you doing this to me” (Davis interpretation) As Saul hit the ground, he called out “Lord” See, he knew who was talking to him. Then Jesus said to him “It is hard to kick against the prick” (we will get into that at a later day, who or what is a prick) Saul, who was later called Paul, became a great Evangelist. Six Churches of Asia were founded, and the Gospel was spread to the Gentiles as well as the Jews. Everyone is covered by the Blood of Christ, if they will accept. Two things stand out to me about this message.
1) Just because you have the right to do something, does not mean it is the right thing to do.
2) No matter what you are, or what you were, God has a purpose for you. It is what you will be that He looks upon.
Give it some thought,
Day 68, Lessons from Owner’s Manual
Why do we pray? I know, the Bible says to pray. I have been around praying people all my life. But why do we pray? Some use it as a time to give God our “to do” list. Telling Him what we want Him to do, even though we are not doing what He wants us to do. Seems a little one sided, doesn’t it? Owner’s Manual says Prayers of the Righteous avail much. But what about the un-righteous? Does God hear their prayer? I believe He hears every prayer that is prayed. How else can he answer the prayer of a sinner asking for forgiveness? But I am more concerned about the prayers that are prayed just so other people can hear how great we pray. I remember a Church that had “Alter of Prayer” (which I believe in) and the same person would wail out load every time, making sure they got the last word. After a while, I got to wondering about that. Ever happen to you? By the way, I love the prayers where all are praying at once, takes on a beautiful song to God. Why do I pray? Because I believe God hears me. I praise him, and pray for His will to be done. I also lift up all that have requested prayer, always adding “not my will, but yours dear Lord”. Pray because it works, as simple as that. Pray in Faith, believing that God hears you, because He does. God has three answers for prayer; Yes, No, and not right now. Think about it, and lift one another in prayer.
Day 69, Lesson from Owner’s Manual
Tomorrow morning, early, will be in route to McCreary County. Really look forward to seeing some old friends and some new ones as well. Most are looking forward to us getting together. I have not mentioned this before, but will now, simply to seek your prayers. Some folks are not happy with my return to McCreary County.
Yes, we are aware of the threats, and turning them over to God. Pray that I be able to walk in a Spirit of Forgiveness. Pray that I be able to treat others as I want to be treated, regardless of how they treat me. That is all I am going to say on that subject. Just requesting prayers for all. Hope to see as many of you as I can. Friday night. Uptown Opry, with Hap Strunk, Sunday morning I will be worshiping at Immanuel Church in Whitley City as well. I am looking forward to both, and visiting with some of you on Saturday.
Keep us in prayer!
