Lessons 31 – 40

Day 31, Lesson from my Owner’s Manual

Tempted. Jesus faced every temptation that there was to face. He not only “resisted” He told the devil where to go! (Remember, Get thee behind me Satan.) Why did He, the Son of God, get “tempted”? Because He knew we would, and was showing us how not to be a “victim” of temptation. “Lead us not into temptation deliver us from evil” Sound familiar. Sometimes I find myself tempted to do wrong! Things like gossip, worry, slander, and many other temptations are near. I learned a long time ago, “When I do good, evil is always present” But I am going to resist temptation, by using the words of Jesus. “Get thee behind me, Satan”. I must shun even the appearance of evil. Glad to say all is well with me and God, as for some others, well, get thee behind me.

Think about it.

God bless

Day 32, Lesson from my Owner’s Manual

Why do we worry? I mean about anything. I cannot think of a single outcome that was changed by me worrying about it. Let not your hearts be troubled, that’s what the Angel said. The same Jesus. Will come again, in Glory! If I exercise my Faith, and honestly trust in God, everything will be OK. It may not be the way I want it, but it will be OK. I may have to pay consequences for some of my “foolish” action, but it will be OK. How do I know? My Owner’s Manual tells me so. No longer use words like “what if”, or “I should have”. In honestly believing what Jesus said and did (and still does today), I can truly have Peace in the middle of the storm. In all the hustle and bustle of the next few days, take time to FEEL the Peace, that Peace that goes beyond all understanding.

Think about it.

Peace is with you, and God bless.

Day 33, Lesson from my Owner’s Manual

How many miles from Nazareth to Bethlehem? We see pictures of Mary on the donkey, Joseph leading it. Wonder what was going through their minds? Joseph loved her, this we know. They still were not married (espoused wife. Means engaged) and great with child. Anyone who has been pregnant can tell you she was not comfortable. No rooms available because the town was full of people who had come to pay their taxes. you see, the people had to go to their “home” town to be counted and pay. That’s why they were making the trip. I bet they were not so concerned about the Prophets of Old at that particular time. Jesus was wrapped in Swaddling Clothes. This refers more to how He was wrapped than the actual material. It is known that the Jewish people of the times would take burial linen with them on a trip, in case they died, would have linen to be wrapped in. Makes sense that Jesus was swaddled in grave clothes. Because He was born to die, for you and me.

Think about what they actually went through.

God Bless

Day 34, Lesson from my Owner’s Manual

Faith!

Who, in your opinion, showed the greatest faith in the New Testament? My opinion, he was the man on the cross beside Jesus! Jesus was on the cross; his mother, his brother, and another woman were at the foot of the cross. Disciples were watching (some of them) from afar. They were scared! Two thieves being crucified at the same time. One said (basically) If you are who you say you are, get yourself down from the cross (and take us with you) the other said (basically) Shut up. We deserve to be crucified. This Man did nothing to deserve this. Then he turned to Jesus and said…”Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom” He knew this was not the end for Jesus, and believed. Jesus said to him…”This day shalt though be with me in Paradise” Not tomorrow, not 2,000 years later, but THIS DAY. Owner’s Manual also teaches that to be absent from the body is to be present with Christ. This man showed tremendous Faith. and just a note, he was not baptized. But that is a Lesson for another day. Exercise your faith, and watch it grow stronger!

Think about it.

God bless

Day 35, Lesson from my Owner’s Manual

Why pray? What good does it do? Does God really hear our prayers? I am reminded of a scene from Bruce Almighty, Jim Cary seeing all the prayer requests coming in, just answers “Yes” to all of them. Boy, what a mess that created. Fist, yes, God does hear every prayer. He answers every prayer. His answer is Yes, No, and Not right now. Jesus taught the disciples how to pray, remember? “Thy Will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven” does not say to beg God to do our will. Our hearts desires will be given to us, but only when our Hearts desires are God’s Will for us. Does prayer really change things? Yes, the biggest change is in us. Talking with, and listening for Gods reply is a good thing.

Pray today, listen today.

Think about it!

God bless

Day 36, Lesson from my Owner’s Manual

I will spend much of today reading from my Owner’s Manual. Not just the part about Jesus being born, not just about the day He laid down His life for you and me. I love the story about the first “deacons” (although today some would call them “dickens). I love to read the Gospels. The good news! I like to read in Paul’s writings, and reading how quickly the 7 Churches of Asia started getting away from Jesus teaching. It reminds me to stay the course, follow Christ, and seek to do God’s Will. I fall short of the mark at times, but He blesses me, He guides me, and He loves me! God has no respect of person; He does not love me more than anyone else. He sent His Son for ALL of us. My prayer. If you have not accepted Him as your Savior, may you do so today?

If you need help, pm me.

Think about it.

God bless!

Day 37, Lesson from my Owner’s Manual

And the shepherds left their flocks and went immediately to Bethlehem to see what the Angel had told them about. Just think, they left their sheep. Unprotected? I think not. The lesson is short and sweet today. If God tells you to go, GO. He will take care of everything, including what you may leave behind. If He brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Hope you are having a great and blessed day!

Think about it.

God Bless

Day 38, Lesson from my Owner’s Manual

God does not see one sin as being greater than another. That may surprise some of us, but it is true! I cannot find where we “live” in sin. We commit sin, and are forgiven if we ask Him in Faith Believing. Found in Proverbs where the “Lord Hates” some things. But not in New Testament. How can God hate? He IS Love. Have heard all my life that God hates sin, but loves the sinner. I cannot find that! Just because I have heard it all my life, does not make it true. I am guilty of committing sin. And so are you. The sin that we commit on a daily basis is the sin of Omission. “He that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” I try to do better every day, I really do. That is why the Grace Plan of Salvation is so great! Will do the best I can. Will trust that God is God, and I am not!

Think about it.

God bless!

Day 39, Lesson from my Owner’s Manual

Sure could use a little good news today. Good News that is what the word Gospel means. Four Gospels in the New Testament, but good news found in much of Paul’s writing as well. Jesus came to Earth, was born of a Virgin, lived about 33 years, then laid down His life for you and me. Romans did not kill Jesus; they just allowed what the “Religious Leaders” wanted. But the grave is empty, Jesus is ALIVE. Makes no difference if you believe it or not. It is the TRUTH. Good News, everyone. No matter what you have done, you cannot make God stop loving you. Today, I will focus on the GOOD NEWS, Jesus Christ, and Alive and in my heart. If you don’t know Him personally, pm me, and I will introduce Him to you!

Think about it.

God Bless

Day 40, Lesson from my Owner’s Manual

I am going to “borrow” some things from my Pastor, Dr. Harry Yates. I don’t think he will mind. Jesus was not in the tomb for 3 days. Hold on; don’t get your panties in a wad. He went to Hell! Yes, to Hell! He whipped the devil, and took back the keys to death, hell, and the grave. Read it, it’s in my Owner’s Manual. If I went to some one’s house, whipped him in front of all his “family”, don’t you know he would be mad? He will not come at me, I’ve already whipped him. What does he do? Uses those around me to get me! Same way with Devil, he can’t whip God, and he knows it. When I hear people say they are “fighting the devil” I have to wonder why. The battle has been fought; God won, and continues to win! But Claude, you just don’t understand. Yes, I do. Been there, done that, bought the Tee shirt and gave it away. Today, I declare God is the Victor. I will resist temptations, but when it gets really rough, I turn it over to God. And I try not to keep taking it back. (That’s a Lesson for another day). Think about it.

God Bless.

Thank you to those who read these Lessons from Owner’s Manual, and thanks to those who share them.
